Dr. Kiara Taquechel (she/her) is an Internal Medicine-Primary Care resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a primary care resident provider at Fenway Health.

As a member of the Sexual and Gender Minority Health pathway at BIDMC and 2024-2025 participant in the HMS-Fenway LGBTQIA+ Health Fellowship Leadership Seminar series, Kiara is passionate about providing primary care for LGBTQ+ patients, integrating LGBTQ+ health topics into the IM residency curriculum, and getting involved with local public policy opportunities.

She created the first BIDMC Internal Medicine LGBTQ+ Peer Group to promote connection among residents and foster opportunities for patient and resident advocacy. In addition, she has been working with a co-resident on a curriculum project focused on teaching IM residents how to incorporate gender-affirming care into their primary care practices.

In the future, she hopes to continue delivering primary care to LGTBQ+ patients and building her educational and advocacy footprint.
